What to Expect During Your Estate Planning Signing
Estate planning signings often include multiple documents—each with specific signing, notarization, and witnessing requirements. During your appointment, Shanea will:
Verify the identity of each signer
Ensure documents are signed in the correct locations
Properly notarize applicable documents
Confirm that witnessing requirements are met
Maintain a professional, neutral role throughout the signing
Shanea O’Connor Services is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. All documents must be prepared in advance of a signing.
Notarization Fees
$15 per signature/document requiring notarization
This fee applies to each document that must be notarized, as required by California law. Documents that require a witness are not included in this $15 fee
Witness Requirements for Estate Planning Documents
Many estate planning documents—such as wills and advance directives—require two witnesses in addition to notarization.
Mobile Appointments
The signer must provide at least one witness
The second witness may be another qualified signer or attendee present at the appointment
In-Office Signings
Clients should still plan to bring witnesses when possible
One additional witness may be provided by Shanea O’Connor Services, subject to availability
Witness service fee: $25
All witnesses must meet California eligibility requirements and present valid identification.
Mobile Notary Appointments
For added convenience, Shanea offers mobile estate planning signings at your home, office, hospital, or care facility.
Mobile appointment fee: $50
Mobile fee is separate from notarization and witness fees

Most signings are completed within 45 to 60 minutes and include document review to make sure that each document contains no blank spaces.
